Ecotourism development in National Parks: A new paradigm of forest management in Indonesia

The forest management in Indonesia is currently using a new paradigm, one of which the involvement local communities. This paradigm applied throughout Indonesia, especially state areas and customary forests. National parks are part forests where involves community. One methods used community-based ecotourism has widely implemented to communities around national park. approach improve people livelihoods minimize encroachment, illegal logging, hunting. In this relation, article aims provide description Indonesian research literature on development program regarding community park areas. It found that plays role by improving maintaining biodiversity, including protection endangered species their habitats. Meanwhile, also empowering communities, providing direct indirect economic benefits.
